Upload your IEP
What we accept
PrepIEP works with the IEP your school district sent you. The fastest path is a PDF; we accept PDF files up to 25 MB. If your district sent you a paper copy, scan it (a phone-camera scanner app works fine — Adobe Scan, Apple Notes scan, and Google Drive scan all produce good output).
How to upload
- From the Documents tab, tap Add document.
- Pick the file from your device.
- PrepIEP starts processing automatically. Most IEPs finish in 30-90 seconds; large or scanned PDFs can take a few minutes.
What we extract
We pull out the fields you'll care about at the Team meeting: student information, present levels, current goals (with SMART-criteria flags), accommodations and modifications, and service minutes. You can review and correct anything that didn't read correctly — your edits stay private to your account.
What happens to the file
Your document is encrypted at rest and in transit. It is never used to train any AI model and is not shared with your district. PrepIEP uses the subprocessors listed in our subprocessor page to store, process, and protect your account data. You can delete a document from Documents → ⋮ → Delete, or wipe your entire account from Account → Privacy & Data → Delete account. Primary account data is deleted immediately; encrypted backups rotate out within 35 days.
Trouble uploading?
If the file is over 25 MB, try a smaller scan resolution (200 DPI is plenty for IEPs). If extraction stalls, see Sign-in troubleshooting or email contact@prepiep.com.
